Our Fav Benjamin Moore Paint Colours

If you have been following At Home Co. for long then you know we love to add a little pizazz into our design projects.

Paint can be the easiest and most affordable way to do that in your space so, let’s go over some of our favourite Benjamin Moore colours that can both add pizazz or just refresh your space!

Raccoons Fur is a gorgeous blue black with violet undertones. I have used it on an entire kitchen to create the perfect moody atmosphere without going fully black!

You can head to our design portfolio & check out Project Trash Panda to see this colour in action!

Next up is Dark Olive. Dark Olive is the perfect muted dark green if you are looking to add an earthy colour to your home. This colour screams mudroom to me but, it would also look good in so many areas in your home. Accent wall, shiplap, a built-in, a bathroom vanity… you name it.

Now, one of my favourite wall colours is Collingwood!

I just recently used it in another project last month where the client wanted a light & bright colour on the walls but didn’t want anything that read “white”. This is the perfect neutral if you ask me.

Okay, let’s talk dark & moody options. Black is a paint colour that is never going out of style. It is the perfect way to add a “pop” & some definition to the space without choosing an actual colour. If I had to choose the perfect black, I would reach for Wrought Iron. This is a muted black (can you tell I love muted options yet?) that goes perfectly in any room of the house.

That being said, if you want a true, rich deep black, then Onyx is the one for you. This black would be perfect on lower cabinets in a kitchen, to be used as an exterior accent colour, a bathroom vanity. You really cannot go wrong with either of these options. One gives a more earthy, grounded feel and one feels more luxurious and bold. Get some sample pots or HelloPaint samples & find what one works best where you are using it.

I’m just going to say it… White can be such a tricky paint to pick! You know it, I know it, however, after years in the industry I have narrowed down some go-to options to turn to.

If you want a bright, crisp, fan favourite white then Chantilly Lace is the winner. This choice will very rarely do you wrong. You can use it in entire spaces & by simply choosing a different paint finish for the walls, trim & ceiling pull it off perfectly. When you think of a clean, white paint, Chantilly Lace is probably what is coming to mind.

Often times clients are looking for a warmer or softer white. This is when colours like Swiss Coffee or Simply White will be good options to try in your home!

Swiss Coffee is a warm white with yellow undertones, while Simply White is a softer version of Chantilly Lace that still pulls on the brighter side.

The next time you are selecting the perfect paint colour for your space, give some of my top paint selection tips a try!

Here are some tips to make the whole process a whole lot easier:

  1. Order HelloPaint Samples! HelloPaint has created the perfect paint sample in my opinion. They are large, peel & stick, reusable paint swatches that you can stick to the areas in your home you are going to be painting & select which option works best with your finishes & lighting - without any damage.

  2. When ordering paint samples from your local paint store, ask the paint tech to also create the colour at 50% and 75%. Just making the colour slightly lighter may make it perfect for your project!

If you find yourself unsure of where to start with paint selection or starting to get overwhelmed by the process, At Home Co. is here to help!

Simply book a consultation with us & we will bring all of our swatches & years of expertise with us to help you land on the perfect colour & tone for your home!
