Baby it’s cold and these kids are crazy: 5 Fun Indoor Winter Activities for Kids in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario

Winter can be a tough time to keep kids entertained, especially if you're stuck indoors due to cold or snowy weather. If you're in the Kitchener-Waterloo area of Ontario and looking for fun things to do with your kids here are five ideas to get you started:

  1. Explore the THEMUSEUM. Located in downtown Kitchener, the THEMUSEUM is a family-friendly museum that offers a variety of interactive exhibits and programs for kids. From hands-on science experiments to art exhibits, there's something for every interest.

  2. Visit the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory. This indoor conservatory is home to hundreds of beautiful butterflies from around the world. Kids will love exploring the lush tropical gardens and learning about the different species of butterflies.

  3. Take a trip to the Grand River Rocks climbing gym. This indoor climbing gym offers a variety of routes for climbers of all skill levels, making it a great activity for kids and adults alike.

  4. Check out the Skating Rink at Victoria or RIM Park. While outdoor skating can be hit or miss during the winter, these indoor options are perfect for a cold or snowy day - or in a freeze/thaw winter like we are having.

  5. Visit it one of our many play centres and experience the array of activities, climbing walls, car tracks, playgrounds and more! My favourites are Play-a-Latte, Recharge and Play, and the Anishnabeg Outreach (AO)’s Indigenous-focused EarlyON Centre.

These are just a few ideas for things to do with kids in the Kitchener-Waterloo area during the winter to keep everyone happy and sane ;)
